You live in another city. The facility says they are fine. The portal is checked off. You still do not know. You need a Bodyguard on the floor who works for you, not for them.
The notes say the bath, the food, the meds happened. They look worse. You are being told it is “just aging.” You need a Bodyguard to look at the body, not only the screen.

We are an objective third party. We do not take over the floor. We do not argue in the hallway. Staff keep working. The routine stays. And when the floor is doing the job, the record says that too — documented by a licensed professional. A good floor gains a documented good name.
We come in quietly. We look. We document. If something must be said, we say it with you — to the people who already run that building.
It is documented for you the day it happens, and kept for you even if you never need it.
A Bodyguard's record is a licensed record — documented as it happens, by a licensed healthcare professional, only for you, not for the floor. Start while the chart looks perfect. That is your baseline. If later a doctor, the facility, or your lawyer needs to see how it was — and how it is — it is already there. You can ask for it.
The door is locked. Visiting is a window, not a walk-in. What you hear on the phone is filtered through the desk. That building is exactly why the record exists.
You get a schedule and a phone line. They get your worry. We work inside the building's rules — a scheduled visit, a licensed look at the person: oriented, fed, clean, medicated as ordered, afraid or not. Then we tell you the truth, documented. In that building, the record is often the only thing that leaves.

Unannounced visits, on a schedule you set. Weekly or twice a month in the first month after they move in; monthly is usual after that — or sooner if this floor is already failing. Person vs chart vs what they told you happened. Meds, skin, mood, whether the staff on duty are actually doing the job — including the shifts you will never see.

There is the list from before the hospital. The list the hospital gave. The list the nursing home starts. The list the pharmacy sends. Somebody has to make them the same list, and then be there when the first dose is due.

New medicines, breathing, oxygen, feeding.
Before they leave. We stand with the hospital staff and match the lists. What they were taking before the hospital, and how they took it. What was ordered. What they were given. What is in the bag. One medicine can be by mouth at home, and another that does the same job, through a trach after — a tube in the neck. A different name and brand. The same job. If the earlier one is never stopped, both stay on the list. Not even you will know.
When they land. We match that list to the nursing home, and we get the hospital papers into the new chart. The new place is not starting from a blank page.
When the first dose is due. We come back, the same day or the next morning. We read the chart. We look at your person. We see whether the dose was given.
Again, still inside 48 hours. The pharmacy order is in. The medications have arrived. The doses are on time. We watch how the new medicines affect them. We watch for an early change. Pain level, breathing, airway clearance, oxygen, feeding — we look at whether it is actually happening. If a dose was not given, or the feeding, the oxygen, or the airway clearance is not happening, we get the nurse or the director of nursing, and they do it.
There is a lot we are not allowed to tell you about these 48 hours. What we can tell you is that you need a Bodyguard for this window. These 48 hours are when a decline starts. We are there to see it early. We see how they leave — the hospital, or the first facility — and we see how they arrive. That record is kept for you. One flat price. We leave and we come back. The drive back is included.
A folder review with nobody examined is a weak visit. The software will say the care was delivered. The body is what tells you if it was. We use the chart and the med list only as a check against what we see.
What we will not promise: that we will run the building, replace their doctor, or change a medication. We show up. We document. You decide. That is how this stays a check on the care — and how we stay in the building.
If you cannot get there, that is a reason. If the person does not match the chart, that is a reason. If they just moved in, that is enough. Tell us where they are. We will tell you whether a visit this week is the right move.
